Quality
ISO 9001:2015
ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognised quality management system for small to large-scale businesses.
The objective of the ISO 9001:2015 standard is to provide organisations with a framework to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
The process is ongoing and is regularly independently audited for compliance.
This standard would be commonly considered a key component and a fundamental requirement within manufacturing.

UL certification
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is a globally recognised independent verification of a products quality and compliance towards internationally established product standards.
When a product is UL certified, it confirms that the product has undergone thorough performance tests and evaluations, and has been determined to meet international safety standards.
Being UL certified is a legal requirement for many products and demonstrates a high level of quality for a product.

CSA certification
Much Like UL, CSA (Canadian Standards Association) works in an identical manor to UL and is primarily focused on the Canadian Market. Without this approval, Electronic products cannot legally be used within this market.
The two approval bodies, UL and CSA combined have become synonymous with one another and it is widely accepted with the industry that both approvals combined are a necessity in order for a product to be considered acceptable for use.
Both organisations work in a similar way and the process of achieving and retaining a specific approval is on-going. Once certification is achieved, it is regularly independently audited with regular conformance inspections and follow up testing to determine on-going compliance.
At CDC, we hold a range of UL/CSA certifications and also utilise UL/CSA certified components with the products that we manufacture to ensure a high level of quality with our products.

Made in Britain
Historically, Britain has become one of the world leaders in innovation. This rich history across all sectors has become synonymous with high quality products.
The made in Britain accreditation was created to showcase ‘the best of British’ manufactured products.
The accreditation guarantees that our cables are designed and manufactured in Great Britain, where our values stand for quality, value, safety and high standards.

RoHS compliance
All electrical cables sold within Europe must be compliant with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive. This Europe-wide regulation restricts the use of certain chemicals used in electronic and electrical equipment, with heavy fines imposed for non-compliance.
All products manufactured by CDC conform to the Directive (EU) 2015/863 amendment of the RoHS3 DIRECTIVE 2011/65/EU, RoHSRecast, Article 4(1): and do not contain and hazardous substances above the specified limits.

REACH Compliance
The European Union (EU) has adopted regulation no.1907/2006, also known as the REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) regulation, which became effective on 1st June 2007.
Custom Designed Cable Ltd has contacted all suppliers and to the best of our knowledge and belief none of the articles that we sell intentionally contain any of the 224 Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC’s) currently on the candidate list in concentrations of >0.1% by weight.
The list of substances can be found at: https://echa.europa.eu/candidate-list-table
