Leading manufacturer of fire-resistant cables
Fire-resistant cables are primarily used for circuits that must maintain integrity during a fire scenario. Cables alone rarely start a fire, but during a fire, cables that are jacketed in PVC for example produce corrosive and noxious gases which poses a danger to life during this scenario. Smoke is also produced which drastically reduces visibility and obstructs the ability to get to safety.
Uses for fire resistant cables
Fire performance cables are ideal for installations in fire detection systems, voice alarm, emergency lighting and smoke alarm systems which rely on circuit integrity in the event of a fire. These products are manufactured to resist fire and emit zero to very minimal amounts of smoke and noxious gases during a fire situation.
Fire-resistant cables are insulated and jacketed in Low smoke zero halogen (LSZH, LSOH, LSF) polymers when under fire produce very little smoke and zero toxic gases/fumes. LSZH cables tend to be much less flexible than most standard PVC or Polyurethane jackets yet the safety factor is critical and in most cases a legal requirement when installing cables into public areas.
Cables that are manufactured using LSZH polymers display significantly improved fire survival performance, when compared to conventional cables when the intention is to install within potential hazardous areas.
We supply a full range of fire-resistant and fire performance cables also commonly referred to as fire survival cables, fire-proof cables, or simply fire cables for power and control applications.
