Leading manufacturer of Solar Cables
Solar cables also commonly referred to as Cathodic protection cables are a range of products designed for interconnection of photovoltaic systems.
Solar cable for Photovoltaic systems are used as the interconnect between roof mounted solar panels to the inverter unit. The inverter converts the DC voltage created by the panel to AC voltage electricity so it can be used on a domestic circuit or fed into the grid.
Solar cables are typically designed utilising highly flexible class 5 Tinned Copper conductors. These cables are generally double insulated which provides strong abrasion resistance and utilise high quality materials offering free from Halogen jackets, oil resistance and high flame retardancy.
As the operating environment for these products is generally outdoor, UV resistance and Ozone resistance is also paramount.
Solar cables are able to withstand significant temperature variations and are typically rated between -15oC – +90oC for a fixed installation with the option for this to be increased to -40oC – +120oC for the most onerous of operating environments.
The most commonly used size would be 4mm2 closely followed by 6mm2 however commercial installations vary dependent upon the scale of the installation.
