Cable Jacket/Extrusion
In cable manufacture, Cable Extrusion, Cable Jacket's and Cable Insulation falls into 3 basic categories, insulating the Conductors, a Bedding Layer and a final outer sheath. Each performing a different but vital task from electrical breakdown, mechanical barrier and finally environmental protection using an endless variety of Materials. The complexity of these materials and therefore the variations of the Cable extrusion, Cable Jacket and Cable Insulation processes are defined by the operational performance requirements of the cable and as always balanced against cost.
The permutations just in these 3 extrusion phases, are considerable and form part of the complex but logical design process when considering your final cable requirements.
